Two Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

This incident resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
