Automobiles in German Town Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police reported they were alerted by a individual who found a automobile in Hanau marked with reddish substance

Roughly fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.

Law enforcement say they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.

The substance had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they reported.

Police then located multiple other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police report early analysis suggest the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no lead as to its source; investigators are presently not aware of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they stated.

Local authorities stated they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the public for tips.

A high-ranking political figure said the incident left him without words and had to be addressed rapidly.

"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing violent incident in 2020," he wrote on social media, referring to the death of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on people of immigrant origin in five years prior.
